CDC Launches OneLab TEST, a New Community of Practice for Diagnostic Testers
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) launched OneLab TEST, a free, collaborative network for anyone who performs or coordinates diagnostic testing at non-laboratory sites. OneLab TEST stands for Timely Education and Support of Testers and is the newest element of OneLab™.
OneLab TEST provides many different free, online education and training courses, resources, and job aids. This diverse network also offers a community of practice in which members can connect with their peers and experts and learn from one another. OneLab TEST supports a variety of personnel who perform testing at non-laboratory sites, such as workplace testing sites, pharmacies, health clinics, physician offices, drive-through testing sites, local health departments, and long-term care and assisted living facilities.
“The goal of OneLab TEST is to strengthen connections between the testing community and CDC to support the ever-increasing need to expand access to diagnostic testing,” said Kelly Winter, PhD, MPH, Branch Chief, Training and Workforce Development Branch, Division of Laboratory Systems at CDC. “Through OneLab TEST, we will meet the testing community’s most urgent training needs.”
