Event Description

Recent public health emergencies have highlighted the need to diagnose diseases quickly and accurately at scales larger than ever before. Testing is being performed across multiple non-traditional settings (e.g., nursing homes, shelters, and jails). In many of these cases, the end-users are non-traditional testing personnel in need of plan language tips on how to perform the tests for accurate results.

Presented by CDR Sabrina DeBose, DHSc, MS, RBP and Alicia Branch, PhD, this session is designed to provide best practice testing recommendations for non-traditional point-of-care (POC) testing personnel who may not have previous laboratory experience or those working with non-traditional POC testing personnel to improve the accuracy of test results. The webinar will cover POC testing, including:

  • Basic safety procedures and the importance of quality management in POC testing
  • How to identify major considerations that impact workspace setup, testing workflow, and hazardous waste management at POC sites
