Event Description
This presentation provided information on developing and implementing the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) Individualized Quality Control Plan (IQCP), a approach to improving the quality of your test results. Developing an IQCP allows testers to have a quality control plan specific to the specific point-of-care test device or system, testing location, and personnel performing the test.
Event Objectives
- Recognize common sources of laboratory errors
- Identify Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) EP23 guideline as a resource for risk management and building an IQCP
- Recognize the variety of engineered control processes manufacturers have built into point-of-care testing (POCT) devices
