In this course, you’ll enter a virtual world and interact with your environment using a VR headset. OneLab VR was designed for the Meta Quest 2 (and above) headset. OneLab VR also supports any OpenXR-compatible headset.

Scenario Description

Proper handling of clinical specimens is necessary to maintain their integrity and reduce the likelihood and severity of laboratory-acquired infections. Safe handling of specimens is essential to minimize the risk of exposure to human pathogens when handling urine and other potentially infectious materials (OPIM). Step into OneLab VR’s spacious core laboratory and learn the proper steps to safely handle urine specimens.

Scenario Objectives

At the end of this 10-15 minute scenario, learners should be able to:

  • Demonstrate standard precautions when handling specimens
  • Demonstrate safe laboratory work practices
Virtual Reality (VR) Hardware Needed

This VR course requires a play area of at least 3ft x 3ft, but  a larger 20ft x 20ft space is ideal to make the experience feel more accurate and real. This VR course also requires a play area with 360° tracking. Currently, this course is designed to be viewed using OpenXR compatible headsets like the MetaQuest3
 

OneLab VR must be installed on your Meta Quest headset to complete this scenario
