Improving Laboratory Training Through Evaluation
Course Description
Training evaluation is a systematic process of gathering feedback about training, analyzing the data obtained, and then using this information to enhance the training. This course guides learners through the application of CDC’s Quality Training Standard #6: Training evaluation informs improvement. The strategies and practices covered are adaptable across different training types, including eLearning, in-person training, and hands-on approaches such as the “See one, do one, teach one” method.
Audience
This basic-level course is intended for public health and clinical laboratory professionals who develop and deliver laboratory training.

Objectives
At the end of this course, learners should be able to:
- Describe the importance of training evaluation in laboratory training.
- Identify at least three questions training developers should ask before conducting a training evaluation.
- Recall the four considerations for developing a laboratory training evaluation plan.
