Opportunities for Learner Engagement in Laboratory Training
Course Description
Learner engagement refers to the quality of participation by learners before, during, and after training. Engaged laboratory learners become motivated to participate in activities, complete training assignments, and apply a learned skill. This course guides learners through the application of CDC’s Quality Training Standard #4: Training includes opportunities for learner engagement, along with effective training delivery practices. The strategies and practices covered are adaptable across different training types, including eLearning, in-person training, and hands-on approaches such as the “See one, do one, teach one” method
Audience
This basic-level course is intended for public health and clinical laboratory professionals who develop and deliver laboratory training.

Objectives
At the end of this course, learners should be able to:
- Describe at least two benefits of learner engagement in laboratory training.
- Identify at least three practices for learner engagement in laboratory training.
- Recall at least two tips for delivering effective laboratory training.
